Countries where the convention applies

Except for Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Convention on the Enforcement of Maintenance Obligations Abroad of 20 June 1956. the Convention of 20 June 1956 on the Enforcement of Maintenance Obligations Abroad also applies in relation to Algeria, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Barbados, Belarus, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Cape Verde, the Central African Republic, Chile, China, Colombia, Croatia, Cuba, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Haiti, the Holy See, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Liberia, Luxembourg, Mexico, Morocco, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Norway, Pakistan, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Montenegro, Seychelles, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sri Lanka, Suriname, Sweden, Switzerland, Macedonia, Tunisia, Turkey, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Uruguay.

In accordance with the provisions of the Convention, each State Party shall, by means of its domestic legislation, prescribe which evidence is required under its national law to establish a claim for maintenance. Each State Party shall notify the Secretary-General of the United Nations of the said evidence.
