Strategic planning, aid coordination and European integration

The strategic objectives of the Ministry of Justice of BiH, particularly the reforms conditioned by the European integration process, are achieved through the creation and coordination of comprehensive plans and policies in the justice sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The reform of the justice sector also entails the precise planning and coordination of assistance from the EU and other donor countries.

Strategic planning

Through strategic planning and coordination of assistance, the Ministry of Justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina introduces modern techniques of organisational management and defines the priorities the organisation sets with the aim of achieving measurable objectives.

The strategic planning process aims to provide a systematic and sustainable approach to prioritisation, planning and resource allocation, ensuring links between strategic and operational plans, budgets and monitoring and evaluation systems.

The Department for Strategic Planning and Coordination of Assistance provides expert administrative support for the development of sectoral strategies (the Strategy for the Reform of the Justice Sector in BiH), the preparation of institutional strategic plans, the preparation of annual operational plans, and supports the Ministry's leadership in establishing mechanisms for monitoring and performance evaluation.

Coordination of aid

Within the relevant sector, project proposals for technical and other assistance to strengthen judicial capacities and implement necessary reforms are regularly monitored and prepared. The Ministry has established a system for collecting, linking and prioritising the needs of institutions in the justice sector. Alongside regular donor coordination, the Ministry maintains a database of donor assistance to the justice sector.

European integration

The Department for European Integration coordinates the implementation of strategies and policies on European integration within the remit of the Ministry of Justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the European integration process, the ministry's objectives are realised by aligning the legal system and regulations with the acquis, as well as by implementing the acquis within the Ministry of Justice's remit.
