Competences
execution of criminal sanctions, detention and other measures of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina,
execution of final decisions of foreign courts for acts provided for by the Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina, if a special law of Bosnia and Herzegovina or an international treaty, to which Bosnia and Herzegovina is a signatory, does not stipulate otherwise,
execution of a criminal sanction of detention or other measures imposed by the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina against foreign citizens or stateless persons, unless otherwise stipulated by a special law of Bosnia and Herzegovina or an international treaty to which Bosnia and Herzegovina is a signatory,
execution of the criminal sanction pronounced in the entity courts for the acts provided for in the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and at the request of the convicted person,
preparation of legal and by-law regulations in the area of the system of execution of criminal sanctions at the state level,
giving opinions and consent in the implementation of the Law or other regulations,
conducting professional education for prison officers,
regulating the conditions of the program and the method of passing the professional examination of the institute officers,
inspection supervision over the work of the institution for the execution of criminal sanctions,
inspection supervision over the implementation of the process of re-education of convicted persons,
inspection supervision over the exercise of the rights of persons deprived of liberty,
processing of a request for pardon,
transfer and conditional release of prisoners.
