Competences

Tasks of providing legal and technical support to attorneys appearing before Section I, Section II and Section III of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina;

Cooperation with the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals (IRM);

Mediation in obtaining evidence for the defense (witness testimony, audio recordings, documentation, transcripts, verification of evidence obtained from the MRM...) and searching the databases and archives of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) and the MRM, for the needs of the defense;

Issuing licenses to attorneys to practice before Sections I, II and III of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, including participation in the development of criteria for their issuance;

Cooperation with the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, bar associations and other professional associations of lawyers and judicial office holders, international organizations, non-governmental organizations, and other relevant organizations in Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad;

Organizing and implementing educational programs for lawyers who appear before Sections I, II and III of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina;

Editing and publication of a professional publication and organization of the Sector's annual conference;

Preparation and participation in projects and realization of other relevant activities aimed at promoting the principles of fair trial and ensuring the highest defense standards.
