Request to return or see the child

The request from Bosnia and Herzegovina for the return or for contact with the child, together with the accompanying documentation, is submitted to the Ministry of Justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina with an attached translation into the language of the requested State. The request and the necessary documentation must be translated by an authorised court interpreter.

With a request for the return or for contact with a minor child, the following documentation must be provided:

• a completed set of forms,

• information on the identity of the applicant,

• information about the child's identity,

• information on the identity of the person alleged to have taken or detained the child,

• all relevant facts on which the request for the return or contact with the child is based,

• other facts that can provide more information regarding the child's current place of residence and the identity of the person with whom the child is living,

• a court decision or agreements made before a judicial or administrative authority, concerning the award of custody of the child to one of the spouses /if such decisions exist/.

• extract from the register of births for the minor child and/or certificate of citizenship of the minor child,

• Photographs of the minor child and of the person with whom the child is currently staying.
