The Law on Associations and Foundations of Bosnia and Herzegovina (''Official Gazette of BiH'', no: 32/01, 42/03, 63/08, 76/11 and 94/16), (hereinafter: the Act), regulates the establishment, bodies and legal status of associations and foundations, registration, assets, cessation of activities and deletion from the Register, status changes and other matters significant for the work of associations and foundations that choose to register in accordance with this Act at the level of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Registration in the register of associations, foundations, foreign and international associations and foundations is carried out in accordance with the Law and Regulations on the Manner of Keeping the Register of Associations and Foundations of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Foreign International Associations and Foundations and Other Non-profit Organisations (''Official Gazette of BiH'', no: 68/18), (hereinafter: the Regulations).
