Initialed Agreement on Legal Assistance between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Moldova



Heads of Delegations of the Ministries of Justice of BiH and the Republic of Moldova, Mr. Jusuf Halilagić and Mr. Sorin Timoti, initialed today in Sarajevo the Agreement on Legal Assistance in Civil and Commercial Matters. The Agreement provides equal legal protection and access to courts on the territory of both countries and improves overall cooperation in the area of international legal assistance between the two countries.

Agreement on Legal Assistance in Civil and Commercial Matters provides that citizens of one country have equal legal protection on the territory of the other country and have right to access courts under the same conditions provided for the citizens of the other country. This Agreement provides that legal assistance includes service of judicial documents, collecting of evidence and enforcement of court and arbitration decisions, as well as exchange of information on laws.

Mentioned Agreement fully regulates legal cooperation in criminal, civil and commercial matters and final signing will follow after the completion of internal legislative procedures of the two countries.
