Public Announcement for the Text of the National Hymn of Bosnia and Herzegovina Published

June 20, 2008 – Public Announcement for the text of the National Hymn of Bosnia and Herzegovina is published today, on the web site of Ministry of Justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina. All citizens of B&H have a right to compete, and text for the music of the hymn by author Dušan Šestić has to be written in one of the official languages in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Works have to be delivered under code and Commission can suggest to the authors certain changes and supplements to the text.

Selected author or authors of the text for the Hymn of Bosnia and Herzegovina will transfer the author rights to Bosnia and Herzegovina. The selected work will be awarded by 30.000 KM.

All applications will be considered by the Commission for Selection of Text for the Hymn. The Commission is consisted of members of the Parliament, acknowledged writers and music author. President of the Commission is Dr. Hilmo Neimarlija, Member of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Deputies are Mr. Martin Raguž, Member of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Mr. Ranko Risojević, Director of the National and University Library of the Republic of Srpska. 

The task of the Commission for the Selection of Text for the Hymn is to select the most successful candidate and to propose the selected text for the National Hymn of Bosnia and Herzegovina.  

Public Announcement is delivered to the official gazettes of Entities and Brčko District, and at the beginning of the next week it will be published in all media. The deadline for the application is October 1, 2008.

All interested citizens are invited to apply for the public announcement and to give their proposal for the text of the future representative song of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
