01/29/2009
10.02.2008. - Minister of Justice of BiH, Mr. Bariša Čolak, UNDP Resident Representative, Ms. Christine McNab, and Ambassadors of Japan and Spain in BiH, Mr. Futao Motai and Mr. Alejandro Alvargonzales, have signed today the project document for the support to processing of war crimes cases in BiH. It is a project of capacity building and professional training of judges and prosecutors, in order to successfully process the war crimes cases at courts of all levels in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Through the planned three-year project “Building Capacities of Cantonal and District Prosecutors’ Offices and Courts in BiH to Process War Crimes Cases” UNDP will support the authorities and institutions in their efforts to implement recently adopted State Strategy for War Crimes Cases. Beside that, the aim of the project is also to establish the support network for witnesses and victims, so they could have an equal treatment before all courts in BiH.
Within the project there will be series of seminars, which should ultimately contribute to the strengthening of capacities and professional training of judges and prosecutors from cantonal and district prosecutors’ offices and courts, for the successful processing of the remaining war crimes cases in BiH.
