20.05.2009. - Representatives of the Ministry of Justice of BiH and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Serbia will meet tomorrow in Belgrade to discuss the initiative and begin negotiations on amendments to the Agreement on Mutual Execution of Court Decisions in Criminal Matters. The same proposal of the Agreement, which was previously agreed with the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Croatia, will be offered to the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Serbia, and that Agreement should allow the execution of court decisions pronounced in one country, in cases where a convict is found in the other country.

Last month, Ministry of Justice of BiH and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Croatia have agreed the amendments to the Agreement on Mutual Execution of Court Decisions in Criminal Matters. Proposed amendments relate to the abolition of "volunteerism" in the execution of criminal sanctions, because the existing Agreement defines that convicted persons must give their consent to serve their punishment in the other country.

Ministry of Justice of BiH has prepared, in a great part, the agreed amendments to the Agreement on Mutual Execution of Court Decisions in Criminal Matters with the Republic of Croatia, and after obtaining the opinions of the competent bodies and the approval of the Council of Ministers of BiH, the conditions for its signing will be created.
