Meeting with the President of the Hague Tribunal

May 20, 2008- Minister of Justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Bariša Čolak met with Mr. Fausto Pocar, President of the Hague Tribunal (ICTY). Meeting was held after the visit of the President of the Hague Tribunal to the Penal-Correctional Institute in Foča, and regarding the escape of Mr. Radovan Stanković, convicted for the war crimes. In that relation, President of the Hague Tribunal was informed about undertaken measures for tracing Mr. Stanković. Possibilities of improving the prison security were also considered, as well as other important issues related to the improvement of whole system of execution of criminal sanctions and processing of war crimes.
In the conversation was emphasized the importance of cooperation between all state institutions and neighboring countries in apprehension of remaining Hague fugitives and in processing of war criminals as well as cooperation in the exchange of information.
At the meeting was also emphasized the importance of state prison construction (Institute for execution of criminal sanctions, detention and other measures of B&H), high level security facility, where will be placed persons processed by the Court of B&H.
Beside the representatives of Ministry of Justice of B&H, at the meeting were present representatives of Ministry of Security of B&H, Intelligence-Security Agency of B&H, State Investigation and Protection Agency, Prosecutor’s Office of B&H and Ministry of Justice of Republic of Srpska.
