Agreement of Bosnia and Herzegovina with Republic of India

29.09.2008. - Bosnia and Herzegovina signed the agreement on the international legal assistance in criminal matters with the Republic of India. The purpose of the Agreement is improvement of efficiency of the two states in preventing, investigation and criminal prosecution of the perpetrators of criminal offences, detection, blocking, seizing and confiscation of the funds intended for financing of terrorism, and incomes and objects gained by organized crime.

 Among all, the Agreement includes international legal assistance in finding and identification of persons and objects, delivery and consigning of documents, files and information, gathering of evidence and taking statements, appearing of witnesses in court, providing help to detained persons in conducting and investigation, blocking funds and financial means intended for financing terrorism etc.

Delegation of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the negotiations in New Delhi was lead by the Secretary of the Ministry of Justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Jusuf Halilagić, and the ambassador of our state in India, H.E. Mr. Kemal Muftić was present during signature of the Agreement.

Bosnia and Herzegovina is 28th country with which the Republic of India, on its own initiative, signed this kind of agreement. In this manner, more favorable atmosphere is created for other ways of cooperation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republic of India as the most populous country in the world.
