Ministerial Conference on the Challenges of Organized Crime

28.09.2009. - Minister of Justice of BiH, Mr. Barisa Colak is participating at the Ministerial Conference "Facing the Challenges of Organized Crime and Serious Crimes on the Territory of the Western Balkans", which is being held on 28 and 29 September 2009, in Belgrade. Main topic of the conference is the strengthening of regional and transnational cooperation, as the precondition for successful court procedures.
Aim of the conference is to contribute, through the common participation of Ministries of Interior, Ministries of Justice and Prosecutors' Offices of the countries in the region, as well as European Union countries, to the strengthening of regional cooperation in the fight against transnational organized crime, which is the precondition for the European perspective of the countries in the region.
At the conference will be presented experiences of the European Union countries in the field of judiciary and internal affairs, with an emphasis on the achieved results in the fight against organized crime, as well as individual experiences of the Western Balkan countries. Special attention will be paid to the role of prosecutors' offices in the fight against organized crime, as well as exchange of experience related to the provision of international legal assistance.
