Intensified Activities on the Selection of the Best Proposal for the Text of BiH National Hymn



22.01.2009 – Commission for National Hymn Text Selection has listened at today’s session choir performance of the two best proposals for the future text of the national hymn of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the next fifteen days, members of the Commission will further consider the offered proposals, and the selected text will be referred to the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina for consideration and adoption.

We would like to remind you that the public competition for the text of national hymn of Bosnia and Herzegovina was opened from June to October last year. Ministry of Justice of BiH received 339 proposals of the text, written to the music of national hymn, whose author is Dusan Sestic.

Members of the Commission for National Hymn Text Selection, members of the Parliament, prominent writers and music authors, first selected ten proposals, and in the next round of evaluation they selected two best texts.

Author of the selected text will receive a reward of 30,000 BAM, and the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina reserves the author rights to the text of national hymn of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
