Amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code and to the Law on Bar Examination Adopted

The House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina has adopted the Proposal of the Law on Amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code of B&H. Amendments to the law, among others, introduce new kinds of investigative actions and conditions for their application, such as the possibility of undercover agent to investigate under the changed identity.
The amendments reinforce the conditions for ordering detention, detention is constantly controlled, and it is allowed to appeal against the decision on termination of detention. Amendments also comprise the confession of guilt, and possibility to appeal against second instance verdict. Appeal against the verdict of Panel of the Appellate Division is allowed if the Panel pronounced long-term prison sentence or confirmed the verdict of the first instance Court that pronounced such sentence or if the Panel modified the first instance verdict that releases an accused person and pronounced the verdict which declares the accused guilty and if the Panel upon the appeal on the verdict acquitting the accused pronounced the verdict which declares the accused guilty.
The House of Peoples has also adopted the Proposal of the Law on Amendments to the Law on Bar Examination in B&H which equals the rights on taking the Bar Examination, regardless in which institution the working experience is gained.
